BREAKING NEWS: Early Release Planned For Severe Weather

Severe weather prompts early release

The South Carolina Governor's School for Agriculture at John de la Howe will operate on an E-learning schedule Friday, Nov. 11 due to predicted high winds and heavy rain from Hurricane Nicole. This decision is in keeping with precautions being taken by surrounding school districts in light of the approaching severe weather threat.

Out of an abundance of caution, the school will begin signing out students TODAY at 2:30 p.m. Residential Life staff will assist families with special arrangements as needed.

Agency president Tim Keown released the following statement this afternoon:

"Dear Aggie Family,

"We, like the other school districts surrounding us, will have an E-learning schedule tomorrow due to the predicted high winds and rain from Hurricane Nicole. I know this can be difficult for many of you who live far away. Our Residential Life staff will be here to assist your student make other arrangements off campus. If your child needs special accommodations, don't hesitate to contact us. 

"We will begin signing students out at 2:30 PM, today. More instructions will come from the Residential Life staff. Students, please take your tablets home for E-learning. More importantly, travel safe!"
