ADMISSIONS
Thank you for your interest in the South Carolina Governor's School for Agriculture at John de la Howe!
The South Carolina Governor's School for Agriculture provides a challenging academic program that grows our students’ knowledge and experience in agriculture and meets the requirements for a high school diploma in South Carolina. Our curriculum begins with four Agricultural Pathways:
Environmental & Natural Resources Management
Horticulture
Plant and Animal Systems
Agricultural Mechanics & Technology
The core academic courses offered at JDLH are taught on the honors level and presented through a lens that shows how they relate to agriculture. Dual Enrollment at Piedmont Technical College is offered. Students may take courses for college credit and obtain certifications in a variety of critical agricultural fields, including artificial insemination and drone technology.
Dual enrollment provides academic, social, and financial benefits to high school students by increasing college readiness, reducing their required credit load and cutting the overall cost of students’ college education.
