The Education Center at John de la Howe is a community resource.

The Education Center is a place where the greater community can gather to learn.

The Education Center is located in the Wilderness area of the John de la Howe campus. The purpose of the Education Center is to provide agriculturally focused field trips for K-9 education, summer programs, and continuing education opportunities for adults.

SUMMER CAMPS

Camp Applications 

The Education Center at John de la Howe hosts a series of day camps and overnight camps during the summer months. The summer of 2025 will see a full schedule of camps!

The cost for day camps is $40 per camp. To register for camps, go to the registration site.

IN-PERSON FIELD TRIPS

Enhance students' knowledge and experience in the field of agriculture with virtual or in-person field trips focused on environmental & natural resource management, horticulture, and plant and animal systems.

FACILITY USE / Rental & Private Events

The Education Center, built in 1988, includes the main building with office spaces, a meeting hall, and an industrial kitchen. Around the main building, there are four classrooms, four primitive camping sites, and access to Lake Thurmond.
